• POLICY - Tender, loving care and a learning atmosphere will be provided in a child-oriented center. Self-reliance and respect for self and others will be taught through experience in work and play.
• ADMISSION – Ages 6 weeks – 6 years. Our facility is limited to no more than 27 children. It is the policy of the Sunshine Child Care & Learning Center to consider for enrollment all children without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, age, religion, or disability. The same requirements for enrollment are applied to all and children are cared for without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, age, religion, or disability.
• HOURS OF OPERATION – We are licensed to operate Monday – Friday from 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM year round. You will be asked to provide a daily schedule in advance so we can schedule our staff. There will be an overtime charge for every 15 minutes before your scheduled arrival and after your scheduled departure time, unless day care has been notified at least 4 hours in advance.
We will be closed on the following Holidays: Good Friday, Monday following Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Friday following, and the same schedule as Public School has at Christmas/New Year's. All additional days will be posted 2 weeks in advance.
• POSTING OF RULES, LICENSE, and VIOLATIONS – All of these items shall be posted on the bulletin board beside inside front door.
• PARENTAL NOTICES – All notices and important information for parents shall be posted on bulletin board or written on dry erase board beside front door.
• ATTENDANCE METHODS/RATES - A $25.00 registration fee will be required for each family yearly. Drop-in rates will be in effect in lieu of $25.00 registration.
There is no credit allowed for late arrival or early pick up and days off. Holidays that fall during the regular work week will be charged for. (Example: If children are scheduled for a 5-day week, you will be charged for 5 days. If your child is scheduled for 4 days and only comes 2 – you are charged for 4 days. If your child is scheduled for fewer than 5 days and becomes sick or a holiday falls on one of the regularly scheduled days and you want to reschedule for another, you will be charged for regular number of days plus the additional days.) We feel it is a convenience for our patrons to be able to add children to the schedule when staff is available; you will be expected to pay for these days if cancelled at the last minute.
If the child leaves Sunshine Child Care and Learning Center for more than two weeks, (for reasons other than health related or six weeks maternity leave for parents) a new $25.00 registration fee will be required upon re-entry.
There will be no credit allowances for ill children when not attending for the day or when leaving early. No allowances for snow emergencies or days school is called off.
A late fee of $20.00 will be charged to those who fail to pay on Fridays unless other arrangements have been made prior to that day.
There is a $25.00 charge on all NSF checks returned to us.
A minimum of two full days is required to keep your spot on our schedule.
• CONFIDENTIALITY - All records of children are kept in a file cabinet and confidential. Staff will not discuss your child with anyone without written consent from you. A parent, upon request, has access to all records maintained on his or her child.
• ENROLLMENT PROCEDURE – The following forms need to be in each child's file:
1. Child Enrollment
2. Registration agreement signed by parent & director
3. Medical Exam (signed by Dr.)
4. Immunization form signed by parents
5. Intake form (children under 2 yrs.)
• NUTRITION - We serve nutritionally balanced foods, as stated in the Wisconsin Rules of Day Care. The children are offered the food, not forced to eat it. Children who do not choose to eat will not be served food until the next meal or snack. Meals are served only at announced meal times; it is the parent's responsibility to get their children there for meals or see to it that they have eaten. Menu requirement: We will follow the State food program requirements. All changes to the menu will be posted for parents. Specialty menus – Any special diet foods required will be provided by parent.
Breakfast 7:30 am – 8:30 am
Lunch 11:00 am – 12:00 pm
Snack 3:00 pm – 3:30 pm
Lunch is prepared by Certified Dietary Manager.
